A Fateful Encounter: Why Pearls?
In 1993, our founder Sallie found herself wandering through the vibrant International Market Place in Waikiki Village, Oahu. Beneath the sprawling canopy of a large banyan tree, a glimmer caught her eye. It was her first pearl bracelet—a strand of beautiful, natural black pearls with a deep, mesmerizing luster.
From that moment, she was captivated. She fell in love not just with their shine, but with their soul. She admired the unique, natural colors, the organic shapes, and the delicate textures that made each pearl a one-of-a-kind work of art from the sea.
Sallie noticed that pearls were the most versatile jewels in her wardrobe. They effortlessly transitioned from professional meetings to after-work gatherings with friends, always adding a touch of refined elegance. She also realized they were the perfect gifts that encapsulated love and celebration for birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's Day, and countless other milestones. Over the years, as she traveled the world, her collection grew with pearls of various types, designs, and colors, each with its own story. She learned that unlike other gems, real pearls carry a unique value that grows with time, just like the precious moments they represent.
